Antique German Stein Early 1960s Musical
Beautiful piece sure to thrill the collector! This stein was purchased by my dad in the early 1960s when he was stationed in Germany. Opposite the handle, on the body of the stein is the number 517. I believe the lid of the stein is pewter, but I'm not really sure. Very intricate detail on the lid! The scene is raised on a navy background. There is a very small paint flake missing off the red skirt on the woman. Other than that, I can see nothing wrong with this antique piece at all. The bottom has the original sticker 'Auf Weiderseh'n 403' on it. I know from my childhood my grandmother had this piece tucked away in her curio cabinet; I've had it tucked in storage since then. I'm sorry, I don't know the name of the tune that plays, but it does still play just fine and it's a pretty tune.
